Production Manager

The Business

Ocean Fish is a fast-growing, dynamic and privately-owned seafood business located in mid-Cornwall. We serve a variety of household retail and wholesale customers both in the UK and Internationally.

Purpose of the role

You will be managing the daily operations of production; providing leadership and direction to production personnel. Working a Five day shift which includes weekend rotation

Role Requirements

  • Managing overall hours of production staff
  • Complete production plan; establishing priorities, monitoring progress, assigning personnel, reporting daily process output and resolving problems
  • Ensuring the team meet production targets and the production process is cost effective
  • Reporting machine breakdowns
  • Completing and checking production paperwork
  • Ensuring stock control is adhered to ; carry out month end stock takes with team.
  • Approving and updating paperwork for holiday requests, sick leave, time sheets etc
  • Ensure planned KPI’s are efficient and performance is met or exceeded.
  • Monitor and review the performance of staff and organise necessary interventions for improvements. Track competencies of team members and provide leadership and development as required to achieve production objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies, systems and processes and the continual improvement of safety procedures.
  • Analyse production and quality control to detect and correct problems. Determine and implement improvements to processes.

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualities

  • Production management / supervisory experience within Fresh Produce / Food Production / FMCG environment (ideally with an understanding of fish
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and build relationships with internal and external personnel.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence staff culture.
  • Experience of managing and communicating with staff where English is not always their first language
  • Team player able to focus on departmental goals whilst respecting the needs of others.
  • Excellent organisation skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks with potentially conflicting requirements.

Factory Supervisor

The Business

Purpose of the role

We are currently recruiting a number of key supervisory roles to ensure that our ambitious growth plans are capable of being delivered. You will be responsible for supervising various departments within our modern food factory in mid-Cornwall, providing leadership and direction to operatives and ensuring company policy is adhered to. Working a five day shift which includes weekend rotation.

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualities

  • Supervisory experience within Fresh Produce / Food Production / FMCG environment (ideally with an understanding of fish)

  • Experience staff induction process and training needs

HGV Class 1 Driver

Ocean Fish are a fast-growing family-run seafood business with significant capital invested in haulage and distribution. As the business is continually renewing and expanding its fleet, we are looking for high class HGV 1 drivers to join the team and help with increasing levels of UK and International haulage work. There is a market leading rate of pay available for top-end candidates who are able to meet the high drive and performance expectations required of our drivers;
